Spring is in the air. With some of the warmer temperatures we’ve had, the grass will be greening up soon, azaleas blooming, and the trees with flowers like the Dogwoods will be sprouting flowers. I am ready for the winter to be over.

I really must apologize for being on the mats all winter long on the driving range tee. We put down our ryegrass seed like we do every year, it did not germinate for a couple of reasons, so we had dormant Bermuda grass all winter long. The TifSport is starting to green up and we have fertilized the tee so we should be back on the grass very soon. Once again I apologize for this.

The greens are coming out of the winter in good shape. We do have some weak spots here and there but with some topdressing and fertilizer, they’ll be good to go. We will start our yearly maintenance program to ensure the best playing surface possible for everyone.

We are still planning on getting some winter projects done this month, so please be patient with us if we are out there working in your way. Please remember to follow all cart path rulings! We have had a lot of damage this winter because of all the cart traffic. Also remember to fix those ball marks and divots!
