Briane Faletto Class A Golf Course Superintendent

With November upon us it means time for the cold weather. We have taken all the necessary measures to help all the turf areas make it through the cold winter months. Throughout November we will be continually cleaning up debris on the course as all the leaves will be dropping from the trees. We will also start doing some tree cleanup as we have many trees and limbs around the course that have died. Keeping the course clean and playable will be our main focus.

We have also taken all the necessary measures to maintain the health of the greens and to get them through the winter months. We will slowly start raising the height of the greens to .140, and have added phosphorous to them to help the plants store nutrients throughout the winter. We will slow down on mowing and roll them a little more often to reduce any stress and to keep them smooth.

The Greens & Grounds Committee and I have met to put together a winter project list. We are prioritizing things we feel need to get done to improve the golf course and sustain us into the future. We have already started on some things, most notably widening of the fairways. I am sure there are some happy faces out there!

We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and we hope to see you on the course!!
