2022 is now in our rearview mirror. I want to start by saying “Thank You” for all the support you gave to the Pro Shop last year and during the Holiday Season. We will begin our end of the year mark downs on golf clubs and other items in the golf shop. We know you have several options to purchase from and by choosing to support your golf shop makes a huge difference here at the Brickyard Golf Club. Special orders are still a big percentage of the orders we do for our membership. We will con-tinue to have our Brickyard Member pricing at or below the big retail stores. Golf lessons and clinics are available in 2023 to sharpen up your game.

The winter golf shop hours for January will be 7:30am-6:00pm, the Practice Range 7:30am-5:00pm and 7:30-4pm on Sundays so our team can clean pick the field before it gets dark. Blair Mitchell and I will be attending the 2023 PGA Merchandise Show at the end of this month. We will be purchasing various items for the Club. We will continue to improve and update items to keep things fresh and in great shape.

The upcoming Member Tournaments will be the Polar Bear Open, a 2-Person Scramble scheduled for 10am on January 7-8, 2023. Then, on February 12, 2023, the Super-Bowl Scramble will take place. We will be kicking up the Club Fitting Events in March which will offer a 10% discount on all orders. Member’s Credit Book must be spent by the end of March 2023. Taylor-Made will be here on Friday, March 10th 11am-4pm and Ping will be here on Friday, March 17th 11am-4pm. They will have the current and new golf clubs along with Trackman Launch Monitor and a certified Professional Fitter. Details and signups will begin February 1st. The 2023 Member Tournament Calendars are posted in the Locker Rooms inside the clubhouse.

The new process of signing out the carts is in place and working out well. Please continue to be patient with us, as we are hiring and training new staff members with new procedures. Our system will mostly have odd # carts parked with back wheels on curb, while even # carts will be parked in front of the odd cart numbers. The # on the Cart Key Tag is written on receipt, then signed for at the bottom of your cart receipts. Please match up key tag # to cart # and enjoy your round of golf. This states that you will take care of the carts and are responsible for any damages and the missing bag cooler should you use one. We’ve al-ready returned several range finders, multiple towels, cell phones and all kinds of apparel.
Please remember to call or cancel online your tee times if you’re not using. Tee Times can be made 10 days out by either call-ing the golf shop or by reserving a tee time at our website. We’ve noticed an improvement during the past few months on members signing in at the golf shop. Thank you. Please continue signing in at the golf shop before going onto the course. Make sure that when reserving your tee time, either through calling the golf shop or online, you book it for one, two, three, four or five players. This ensures that other members don’t book on your tee time when you’re expecting more players that what is booked.

One last note, there are an enormous amount of Range Balls being found on the golf course. This is NOT ALLOWED; please pass this along to all your family members, the Practice Range balls stay on the range and please do not take them from the range. This is considered inappropriate member etiquette at Golf Clubs worldwide.

See you at the course,

Derek Lafferty
