Briane Faletto Class A Golf Course Superintendent

With November upon us it means time for the cold weather. We have taken all the necessary measures to help all the turf areas make it through the cold winter months. Throughout November we will be continually cleaning up debris on the course as all the leaves will be dropping from the trees. We will also start doing some tree cleanup as we have many trees and limbs throughout the course that have died. Please be aware if we are working on a lift truck or other equipment. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Keeping the course clean and playable will be our main focus.

We will be over-seeding all the par 3 tees again this year along with the Driving Range tee. Please be patient with us as you might encounter tee markers off the tee box temporarily. We will also rope off the area of the Driving Range tee that has been over-seeded so that no one will walk through it and track rye grass seed everywhere. Thank you for your patience.

We will also continue cleaning up the wooded areas using our skid steer and bush hog. It is remarkable how great some of the areas we have already cleaned out look.We have also taken all the necessary measures to maintain the health of the greens and to get them through the winter months. We will slowly start raising the height of the greens mower to .140, and have added phosphorous to them to help the plants store nutrients throughout the winter. We will slow down on mowing and roll them a little more often to reduce any stress and to keep them smooth.Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and hope to see you on the course.
