Jonsson Named Men’s Golf Co-Player of the Week-April 6th Bears Place Ninth at
Wofford Invitational Ending the SoCon Tournament
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Tobias Jonsson, led the Bears while shooting his second lowest round of the season and finishing in second place overall in the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C. tallying a final score of 209 (-7). After 18 holes at the Country Club of Spartanburg, the Bears finished in 7th place of 18.
GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Mercer men’s golf team wrapped up the Southern Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon in seventh place at a +23 887 from The Oconee Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
Individually, Tobias Jonsson led the Bears with a three-over-par 75 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 22nd place overall at five-over in the championship. Martin Plukka carded a one-under-par on Sunday and six-over for the championship and placed six-over. Jonathan Parker finished three-over on Sunday and 11-over for the tournament. Jay Spivey and Ethan Werblo finished with four-over-par scores and finished at a tie for 30th and 39th places, respectively.
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Mercer women’s golf team closed out play at the 2022 Southern Conference Championship by finishing third at The Dye Golf Club at Barefoot Resort on Wednesday April, 19th. The Bears tied their best finish at the conference tournament since joining the SoCon in 2014-15 after finishing third in 2018 and 2021 as well.
