Derek Lafferty The 2023 year is now in our rearview mirror. I want to start by saying “Thank You” for all the support you gave to the Pro Shop last year and during the Holiday Season. Special orders are still a big percentage of the orders we place for our member-ship. We will continue to have our Brickyard Member pricing at or below the big retail stores. Golf lessons and clinics are avail-able in 2024 to sharpen up your game.

I will be attending the 2024 PGA Merchandise Show at the end of this month. I will be purchasing various items for the Club, attending seminars, and scouting out products that we feel will improve our merchandise selections and member experiences. We will continue to improve and update items to keep things fresh and in great shape. Feel free to pass along any suggestions or ideas that you would like to see at the club, and I’ll research them to implement successful items that our leadership team feels would be a good addition for The Brickyard.

We will be offering a Member Birthday Best Practice beginning this month and going through the 2024 calendar year. The Brick-yard Member Birthday Rewards Program offers an additional 20% OFF the Brickyard Member Price to members during their birthday month. This applies to in stock merchandise, one time purchase during your birthday month, and limited to one item or one dozen golf balls. Excludes price protected merchandise.

The upcoming Member Tournaments will be the Polar Bear Scramble, a 2-Person Scramble scheduled for 10am on January 6, 2024. Then, on February 11, 2024, the Super-Bowl Scramble will take place. We will be kicking up the Club Fitting Events in March, which will offer a 10% discount on all orders. Members Credit Book must be spent by the end of March 2024. Dates and times for our golf club vendors’ fitting days will be announced in the February newsletter. They will have the current and new golf clubs along with Trackman Launch Monitor and a certified Professional Fitter. The 2024 Member Tournament Calendars are posted in the Locker Rooms inside the clubhouse. And they are on page 3 of this newsletter.

The new process of signing out the carts is in place and working out well. Please continue to be patient with us as we are hiring and training new staff members with new procedures. Our system places the odd # carts parked with back wheels on curb while even # carts parked in front of the odd cart numbers. The # on the Cart Key Tag is written on receipt, then signed for at the bottom of your cart receipts. Please match up key tag # to cart # and enjoy your round of golf. This states that you will take care of the carts and are responsible for any damages and lost and found items are successfully returned to the golfer that used this cart. We’ve already returned several range finders, multiple towels, cell phones and all kinds of apparel.

One last note, there are an enormous amount of Range Balls being found on the golf course. This is NOT ALLOWED; please pass this along to all your family members, the Practice Range balls stay on the range and please do not take them from the range. Also, several members have reported to the golf shop staff that the Sand Traps are not being raked by our club members and divots are not being filled in using the sand bottles on the golf carts. Please rake your footprints in all bunkers and come back with empty sand bottles after completing your round of golf. This is considered inappropriate member etiquette at Golf Clubs worldwide.

See you at the course,

Derek Lafferty
