Golf Season to me begins in April. There’s nothing like sitting around the club, playing golf, then watching the Masters commen-tated by Jim Nantz. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Trivia for you. Who holds the Record at Augusta with 22 Top 10 finishes, 37 cuts made, 6 Wins and Runner Up finishes with 4.
With that being said, the Golf Shop will have a Daily Masters Week contest named “Pick your Masters Pro Today.” Here is how it works. Each day, club members will have the opportunity to select any Masters Pro to be his partner. Add the Member’s Net Score to the Masters Pro score for a total score. Ties will split the winnings. We will award winnings each day. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Members Handicap Allowance = 85% of your Course Handicap. Details in the Golf Shop.
Custom Club Fittings will feature TaylorMade on Wednesday April 26, it was rained out in March. Ping will return for a second visit on Friday April 28th. Titleist will visit us on Thursday May 11 and if have an overwhelming response from you the members, Titleist will accommodate these by staying another day. We will be taking walk-ups, just be patient and flexible with your time and we’ll get you fitted. This is a Member Benefit, and we will be giving 10% OFF on all fitting day orders. The 2 Man Hutch Cup is underway, and 16 matches have been played cutting the field in half. We are now in the Round of 16. April 22nd features the 2-Person Par 3 Competition. All 18 holes will be set up as Par 3’s. We will have our first Couples Golf fun day event on Sunday April 30th at 4:30pm which will be 9-holes playing a (Scramble Format). I’ve been asked by several members to put this together, so let’s have a good turnout. I’m even going to ask my wife to come out and tee it up with me.
Here is some kickoff information for the Brickyard PGA Junior League. We had an outstanding 2022 PGA Junior League, and we anticipate our 2023 League to be even better. Registration began March 3, 2023. Girls and Boys 15 and under are welcome to sign up. The entry fee will be $200 per junior for members and $300 per junior for non-members, which goes to the PGA Golf Staff
“Derek Lafferty & Blair Mitchell & other instructors”, for golf instruction, on-course golf practice, introduction to the rules of golf weekly, home and away matches against Houston Lake Country Club and Southern Landings just to name a few, various program expenses and end of season Pizza Party. The PGA Junior League has a one-time $99 registration fee per player in addition that each family will be responsible for completing online. Registration at www.pgajuniorleague.com Season start April 1, 2023, through July 31, 2023. The 1st Practice will be held Thursday April 6th from 4-6pm. We’ve extended the Registration through April 16th. The golf shop will contact everyone as a reminder. We are close to 20 juniors in this years program.
The April Ladies Clinic will feature two this month and one will be held on Saturday April 15th beginning at 11am and lasting one hour. The second one will be held on Tuesday April 18th beginning at 11am and lasting one hour. The cost is $20 per session. Golf lessons are available for club members either by a single lesson or through a lesson package. See Derek or Blair for details.
I can’t stress this enough: As a reminder, please continue to utilize the Brickyard Member Login to view and make tee times. You are allowed to make tee times 10 days in advance. Please remember to book all the slots to ensure that other club members don’t book on top of your time when you are expecting a threesome, foursome or fivesome. Call several days in advance to book your Tee Time. There is a good possibility that the tee time you want, may not be available. Take advantage of this 10-day book-ing window. You can always cancel if it doesn’t work out.
